Mission
The Lake Park Society for the Advancement of Civic Engagement (Lake Park SACE) is a resident-led, nonpartisan civic organization dedicated to transparency, accountability, and meaningful public participation in local government.
Our mission is to empower residents with accurate information, encourage informed civic involvement, and help safeguard Lake Park’s quality of life for current and future generations.
Letter from the Board
The past year marked a pivotal period for civic engagement in Lake Park. Residents raised important questions about large-scale development, public-private partnerships, zoning changes, and the integrity of public decision-making processes.
Lake Park SACE stepped forward to ensure residents were informed, voices were heard, and public actions were documented and examined carefully. Our work focused on facts, public records, and respectful advocacy—guided by the belief that democracy functions best when residents are informed and engaged.
Organizational Growth, Advocacy & Community Impact
Lake Park SACE experienced a year of meaningful growth and expanding community impact. Through consistent presence, resident education, and respectful advocacy, the Society strengthened relationships across Lake Park and supported resident participation in local decision-making.
Throughout the year, Lake Park SACE maintained a visible and sustained presence at Town Commission meetings and public workshops, created new alliances, and expanded efforts focused on resident education and awareness of town issues. These efforts contributed to increased resident participation and led to resident-centered public meetings that promoted a more unified community voice on matters of shared concern.

Engagement with Town Leadership
In January, Lake Park SACE welcomed and oriented the Town’s new Town Manager, introducing the Society’s mission, community reach, and resident-focused role. Over the course of the year, this engagement contributed to a more productive working relationship with Town leadership and staff grounded in communication and transparency.
Advocacy & Public Participation

In parallel, Lake Park SACE devoted significant effort to issue research, policy analysis, testimony preparation, and public education—using meetings, written materials, and social media to inform and engage residents.
Media & Public Information.
As part of its commitment to transparency and resident education, Lake Park SACE engages with local media to provide factual information and context on issues affecting the Town.
During the reporting year, media coverage related to Lake Park development and infrastructure issues referenced Lake Park SACE as an informational source. This reflected the Society’s role in reviewing public records, monitoring public-private development agreements, and helping residents understand the implications of major town decisions.
Lake Park SACE’s interactions with the press are nonpartisan and informational in nature and are intended to support accurate public understanding rather than advocate for specific outcomes.
Community Outreach & Service
Lake Park SACE believes effective civic engagement begins with meeting residents where they are.
On January 5, the Society hosted an outreach booth at the Town’s Christmas Tree Unveiling Ceremony, engaging residents in informal, one-on-one conversations. Volunteers introduced attendees to Lake Park SACE’s mission and provided educational information about major town issues.
In addition, Lake Park SACE organized a Thanksgiving turkey distribution for the teachers and crossing guards at Lake Park Elementary School, recognizing their service and reinforcing community connection beyond policy advocacy.
Governance & Compliance
Lake Park SACE is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and operates in accordance with applicable federal and Florida nonprofit regulations. The organization does not endorse political candidates and conducts its activities exclusively in furtherance of its educational and civic mission for the public benefit.
Financial Stewardship
During the reporting year, Lake Park SACE maintained its financial records and tax filings through a professional accountant. The organization applies its resources responsibly and prudently in support of its mission and maintains its nonprofit status in good standing.
